Orlias canyoning [short circuit] (2017) - Olympus, Greece

Video feature

The mountain of Gods in Greece, Olympus, has a few beautiful canyons. One of theμ is "Orlias" which has a long and short canyoning circuit, this time here we followed the short one. Team was organized by Hellas Canyon. It was a nice -and humid- day, met at the meeting point and started walking up the trail towards the canyon. The same trail takes you towards the shelters in order to go for the summit.

Quick basic techniques lesson

 Wetting the ropes

A smaller more experienced team had started earlier to do the long route, we waited for them to join and continue together.

At this point you would throw you bag because you would either slide down the waterfall or jump!

An experienced canyoner, had gone through the specific canyon at least 50 times!

 Beautiful nature

A short break for the team

The canyon was really enjoyable because it offered many places for water games and jumps like this one. After you rappel down you could climb up the rocks on the right and jump down again.

This young 16 years lad was full on canyoner, had his own gear and did some really amazing back flip jumps!

Watching the beauty and the crazy jumps

You never know how really big are the rocks under the water

 Big smiles

And here we are talking about real fun!

Many more jumps while going down the canyon

The two stars of this canyoning, full back flip jumps!

One could only imagine the power of nature when the weather was bad around here...

 Drinking water from natural springs

Our last spot was the carpark where we parked the cars, due to the easy accessibility there were quite a few people enjoying the natural pool and waterfall. I wonder what were they thinking when our small neopren group appeared out of nowhere...

Some final jumps and enjoying the water before the finish

This was definitely so much fun, once we finished I wouldn't mind to go up the train once more and start all over again!
